That is, the energy cuts not only responded to environmental circumstances, but also to unprecedented acts of corruption and negligence"

The power will be off so the needed repairs can be carried out.

A reminder that power is everything.

There is a "popular consultation" on Sunday, which is a kind of referendum to change the country's constitution. The President wants to include powers to allow extradition and alterations to how manual workers are paid. It appears that the "sabotage" was intended to undermine that vote. Political ( corrupt) opponents of the government are behind the interference.
