Hmmm. Well seems to play very similar to previous game and the only 2 maps I played so far were both copies of previous maps (adaptations I should say because they'd expanded on the previous build).

My only real issue is that one game went fine (lost but I'm a level 1 unlike some people (Envoy, lvl 26 I see...) Second game on the train platform caused my whole system to crash part way through. Not a fan of that. No explanation. May wait for a patch or two.

I haven't played the single player, based on the reviews it's not worth it as a solo player:
No checkpoints
No game saves
No AI help from the squad you're supposed to be with, who all appear in cut-scenes.

Perks - Combinations
In case you didn't read this:
https://www.callofduty.com/uk/en/blog/2 ... ultiplayer

The three Perks you select for your Loadout determine your Operator’s Combat Specialty.
Equip three Perks of the same category to activate the Enforcer (red), Recon (blue), or Strategist (green) Combat Specialty bonus:

You can now activate Hybrid Combat Specialties when pairing Perks of different categories.
As long as your Loadout includes at least two Perks of the same colour, you’re guaranteed to unlock a Hybrid Combat Specialty.

[Note that while using the Perk Greed Wildcard, your Combat Specialty will still be determined by the base Perks in your Perk 1, 2, and 3 slots.]

I had a little go at the co op (running it solo). It steals a little from FEAR and a little from Dishonored. I say steal because it does neither well. Rock Paper Shotgun do it a better review https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/call-of-duty-black-ops-7-campaign-review

The initial level was fine till I got to the boss level and was supposed to conclude it with a melee kill on the boss whilst everyone amongst the enemy had guns. Not fair! Guns wouldn't kill the bugger. And at that point I quit and as Villan points out, I'd have to play it all again to get to that irritatting point. So I doubt I will.

I had also assumed that playing the co op would allow me to level up guns - nope, at least not that I could tell post game.

Couple of google sheets set up by others to show weapon and challenges unlocks & progress etc.

BO7 Mastery Tracker by Axolwaffles - Google Sheets
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... =232675155

Siber's Black Ops 7 Camo Tracker (Master - v1.0.1) - Google Sheets
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 1609814120

Also, if you use a single fire/semi-auto weapon, it might be worth changing the "Manual Fire Behaviour" to Hold instead of Toggle.

Setting this means you keep firing as long as you keep the fire button pressed - only affects single fire/semi-auto weapons: hand-guns, snipers, marksman rifles etc.

Settings > Keyboard & Mouse > Combat > Combat Advanced Settings > Manual Fire Behaviour: Hold

[Worth setting Akimbo Behaviour to Paired while you're there.]

NB. Whilst you're playing BO7, you're also still progressing the BO6 Battle Pass.
If you still have it installed, load it up* and check to see how far you've got -
remember there are CoD Points and XP tokens which carry over to BO7 if you claim them.
Same goes for any free XP tokens in the BO6 store.

* I had to re-install it -29Gb- but found I'd now completed the Battle pass, got some extra XP and CoD points.
Also got a free 30 min XP token from the Store.
